On Monday, Michael Cheng and I drove to Eau Claire.  Michael gave this fabulous presentation as to what the Culinology Department at SMSU is all about...Recently they have won several national design awards   in the Research Chef's Association national competition for "Fajitables" and "Good as Grandma's Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Buttermilk Ice Cream"

Amber took me on a tour of the packaging plant and the farm where much of the horseradish is actually grown.  (They also have another farm, but sorry, I didn't go there).  BUT, I did get to stay for both nights in farmhouse above! Really COOOOOL, thanks!!

We did a couple of videos Monday afternoon, but it was mostly a day of travel, meeting people and equipment set up.

For dinner that night they had planned a FEAST with Chef Casey Anderson of the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club. He graciously opened the dining room for us and prepared this FANTASTIC (gotta be a 7 course dinner....)  I only took pics of the last two courses, .... BUT wow!!

I ate all of mine!! Thanks, Chef Casey, You da MAN!!


The next morning, Amber gave me a tour of the farm.  This is were they grow most of the horseradish..


Dump trucks of horseradish root, "RUTT", at least that is how it is pronounced!


Mr. Shu of Silver Spring (TM) are also hydroponically growing Japanese wasabi.

Mr Mike Walsh, president of Silver Spring (TM) gave me 4 small root plants to see what I could do with them.... I got them growing in my back yard!

As of May 20, 2012, I got two growing in my coffee and egg shells planter!!


On Tuesday, I have to work, we get 13 videos in the can!!
